Not much happened since I have been back in the UK except catch up on work stuff and some other things at home. My calf muscle is till sore so I may need to see the doctor about it if it is not better by the weekend. This also means no running/jogging so I am feeling really housebound and going crazy. No time yet for a long cold soak but maybe tomorrow or Friday will bring some opportunity for me to do that.
For these 2 days it has just been a short cold shower, but even this feels warm after the very cold baths of the past week. No temperature measurement so far but I will do that tomorrow. It feels warmer than when I left for vacation so its probably above 10C now straight out of the tap. Guess I need to go find that pond/river somewhere for a really cold experience over the next few weeks - or hope for another cold spell with snow and ice to wing its way in from Siberia.
A day-by-day diary of experiences and experimenting with cold water toughness and few bits of other stuff too like my running regime and getting fit.

Day 36 & 37 - Still in Hot Water
At least I can say that I am sticking to cold showers - the only problem is that for the past 5 days the coldest water I can get out of the tap has been at 30C. I suppose the bright side of this is that I now have more of a suntan than before and that I have been walking a fair bit too, so hopefully my weight will be down a bit more. The results of weigh-in I will post on the blog tomorrow.
Here's hoping the next 2 or 3 days in the UK will allow me the time for a few cold baths to get used to the cold again.

Day 9 - Boring
No time today to do much more than a quick 5 min shower - didn't even feel cold once I had dried off. If you had told me that about 10 days ago I would have said it was not possible, but today......
Water was 9C so getting colder and with the weather due to get colder overt the next day or 2 I hope that by Monday the water will be down another degree or so. Hope to start the walking/running over the weekend.
Temperature: 9C
Duration: 5 minutes (shower)

Day 3 - Much the same
I am back in the UK now. Water is colder than in Portugal straight from the tap so I ran a bath and added hot water so that it was colder (at least to the feel of my hand) than there. Nothing to really report on today except that cold water shampooing and shaving is not a good combination. Over the past few days I have cut my skin to ribbons because of the extra bumps and notches created by the cold water making the skin less supple. I need to execute a different plan to do this.
Water temp: Approx 18C (no thermometer yet)
Duration: 10 Minutes
