Starting up the Blog for the 2013/2104 winter season

Hi one and all

Thought it was about time to revisit this blog and get some new page views from those that are following this.

With the winter season starting up  and the temperatures starting to dip here in the UK I already started my cold shower routine in the mornings again.  Some days it's a full shower in cold water others a few minutes to start off.  I can already tell the difference in temperature from just a few weeks ago to now.

My running is still going strong and I intend to do all my running this winter shirtles just as I did last year too.

This year I have promised myself to get out and do some proper winter swimming in rivers or lakes.  I also promise to take some pictures this year to liven the blog up a bit.  Keep watching this space.

Also if there are things that you want me to do or to write about in particular just drop me a comment.

Glad to see you're back. Why do you take the cold bath after running, rather than before? Or both before and after? Or would that be too much?

Very glad to see that you are writing again as I kind of follow your leads for my own "cold" venture. Just curious, when you take cold shower, do you do any warm-up or just go straight into the cold water?

Hey, Good to see your blog back for the Winter. Hope to see some more photos of your exploits. I'm about to re-start winter swimming when I can. Hoping to get down to Hampstead Heath Pond on Sunday - water temperature is down to 10°C now. The pond is open until 2.35pm, so will look to get down there about 2pm.

Will you be looking to visit the ponds again this winter? Be cool if we could get a swim in together. You'll have my e-mail address from last year.

Looking forward to your blog entries.

Mark

The Mrs (in sportsbra) and I (barechest) go out running all year round too. It's been a funny winter this time. There has been some really good hard frosts in the early morning but nothing on a par with last year
